We specialize in sustainable and innovative yet contextual design, strong technical expertise and competent budget control at all stages until project completion.
We understand that client relations, interaction, and continuous communication are paramount to success in achieving the above. We consider listening as pivotal to the process and central to the issue
of providing service. We strive to have a rational approach to project design, where cost effectiveness is assumed as an essential part of the building’s functional requirements.

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
Milena Belomorska
In the years following her graduation from the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, Milena has worked for architectural firms in the Toronto area, and has been involved in a series of municipal projects. As a partner at OCA Architects, Milena has been the Principal Architect for the firm’s Retirement and Senior-care projects. Her interest in “aging-in-place” and the continuum of care for the elderly has led to a design approach that creates strong communities with functional, meaningful and engaging environments for seniors. She has worked with private operators, non-for-profit groups, and client-user groups to ensure that their vision and requirements are successfully integrated in the care facilities.
Milena has a keen interest in sustainable design and construction practices that contribute to the conservation of the natural habitat and its resources. Her interest has led her to obtain a LEED Accredited Professional certification in 2004. She has developed and implemented cost-effective methods for energy-efficiency in a number of recent building and is eager to apply her knowledge of sustainable architecture practices to all future projects.
PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT
Michael Scott Schumacher
With three decades of Architectural and Interior Desing experience in architecture, Michael (Scott) Schumacher is an experienced leader renowned for his innovative approach to design, dedication to sustainability and a talent for creating Architectural moments within restrictive budgets. Graduating from with high honours from Carleton University, Michael quickly established a reputation for creating spaces that are not only aesthetically stunning but also deeply functional and environmentally responsible.
Throughout his career, Michael has successfully led numerous high-profile projects, ranging from restaurants, schools, industrial buildings, and Long-Term Care. His portfolio showcases a diverse array of styles and scales, reflecting an understanding of client needs and the surrounding environment. He is particularly known for the award-winning Grace Christian School as well as designing and completing over 12 Long Term Care Facilities. In his work previous to Long Term Care and Education focused buildings, Michael worked on numerous projects such as the Toronto Cricket Club, the 360 CN Tower Restaurant, numerous small projects at the Air Canada Centre, the Mandarian Oriental Hotel in Vegas.
In his early years, Michael also worked on multiple projects involving the conversion of Eaton Stores into Sears, Canada Trush Branches and has designed and overseen the completion of over 500,000 square feet of office space.
As a proponent of sustainable design, Michael integrates green technologies and practices into his work, ensuring that each project not only meets the demands of modern living but also contributes to a healthier planet. He believes that architecture should enhance the community, and his projects often feature community spaces that foster connection and collaboration.
In addition to his design work, Michael is committed to mentorship and education within the architectural community. He regularly speaks at industry conferences and contributes to seminars at local Architectural Colleges, sharing insights on the future of design and the importance of sustainability, community while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the client.
With a keen eye for detail, commitment to quality, and expertise in leading an engineering team, Michal continues to push the boundaries of architecture, transforming visions into reality and leaving a lasting impact on the built environment.
